About the Journal

Journals Mining Engineering : Bina Tambang (ISSN: 2302-3333) is an open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Department of Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Padang. The journal serves as a premier platform for researchers, academics, engineers, and practitioners to publish original research articles, review papers, and technical notes on all aspects of mining engineering and earth sciences.

First established to foster the dissemination of mining technology and sustainable resource management, Bina Tambang is dedicated to bridging the gap between theoretical academic research and practical industrial applications, particularly within the Southeast Asian region and globally.

Scope and Focus

The journal welcomes submissions that contribute significantly to the following areas, but are not limited to:

  • Surface and Underground Mining: Mine design, excavation methods, rock mechanics, and blasting technology.
  • Mineral and Coal Processing: Mineral dressing, metallurgy, coal preparation, and clean coal technology.
  • Exploration and Applied Geology: Ore deposit geology, geophysics, geostatistics, and resource/reserve estimation.
  • Mining Environment and Sustainability: Mine reclamation, acid mine drainage management, tailings disposal, and occupational health and safety (K3) in mining.
  • Geotechnical Engineering: Slope stability, underground support systems, and soil mechanics.
  • Mining Economics and Policy: Mine valuation, feasibility studies, and mineral economics.

Publication Frequency

This journal is published two times a year (June and December) in an electronic format.

Peer Review Process

Every submitted manuscript undergoes a rigorous double-blind peer-review process by at least two independent expert reviewers in the relevant field to ensure the highest quality of scientific integrity and practical relevance.
